Success for WA Competitors at Aus Cup 4/NT ISSF State Titles - Darwin

The 3rd, 4th and 5th of September saw Luke Wakeling, Peter Boylson, and Steve Coghlan make the three and a half hour plane trip to hot and humid Darwin in order to compete in AISL's Aus Cup 4 which was held in conjunction with the Northern Territory's ISSF State Titles.

This event was the last hitout for our Commonwealth Games representatives prior to Delhi and as a result provided great competition and experience for three of WA's local ISSF shooters who performed well throughout the event ...

FOLLOWING THE SURPRISE CANCELLATION OF THE NEWMAN CARNIVAL DUE TO CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THEIR FACILITY
 WE AT PORT HEDLAND AFTER CONSULTATION WITH NEWMAN & WACTA OFFER OUR FACILITY AS AN THE ALTERNATE VENUE FOR THIS EVENT.

 THE EVENT WILL MAINTAIN THE SAME FORMAT OF COMPETITION & THE SAME DATES AS WERE SCHEDULED FOR NEWMAN.

The Pan Pacific Masters Games from 6 to 14 November this year.

The Pan Pacific Masters Games is nine-day celebration of sport and a great way to meet clay-shooters from across the country. The event will be held on the Gold Coast in Australia from 6 to 14 November this year. Participants will have the opportunity to show off their talents in a friendly competition and share their love for sport with fellow enthusiasts. There is also an extensive entertainment program that competitors can enjoy.

Roy Holtfreter Memorial Shoot Northam 2010

NORTHAM & DISTRICTS

ROY HOLTFRETER MEMORIAL SHOOT

30TH, 31ST OF JULY & 1ST OF AUGUST 2010.

 

 

With foggy mornings, ice-cold nights but beautiful sunshine days, Northam & Districts Gun Club held their Roy Holtfreter Memorial Shoot.

 

Northam & Districts Gun Club Members are very honored to be associated with the founder of WACTA and the Northam Gun Club, and all other honors achieved by Roy.

 

The club room was covered in Memorabilia of Roy Holtfreter, from his sashes dated from 1954 to 2004, with Medals and Life Member Badges from Nationals, Masters Games, ACTA, WACTA, Interstate Clubs and Local clubs within Western Australia.

 

Friday afternoon was Event 1, Thank God its Friday, 50 Tgt Point Score.

With 38 shooters in contention for prizes.

 

Results:  Overall: Murray Tucker  - 150/150  

 

               1st AA:  Elliot Harris     -   148/150          1st A : Russell Jaggard - 148/150

               2nd AA:  Matt Iwankiw  -  145/150           2nd A: Martin Miles     - 147/150

               3rd AA:  Brayden Harris -  144/150          3rd A:  Vince Oliveri    - 145/150

 

              1st B: Stephen Withnell - 142/150            1st C: Shannon Walker - 129/150

              2nd B: Doug Morgan     - 139/150            2nd C: Ian Hodges        - 127/150

              3rd B: Michael Walker  -  136/150           3rd  C: Michael Moffat - 126/150

 


Saturday morning was a delayed start with fog covering the trap houses, however went it lifted all 93 shooters were well on their way to shooting Event 2 of the weekend being 10 tgt Single Barrel Cash Divide, directly followed by Event 3 THE ROY HOLTFRETER MEMORIAL EVENT of 50 tgt Point Score.(Yes that’s right 60 tgts straight up, it sorted the men from the boys.)


ROY HOLTFRETER MEMORIAL EVENT was proudly won by Tony Burnard of the Dream Team with a score of 150/150 the only possible.

And to finish of the day Event 4 saw a change of the traps with 50 tgts Continental, shot in one visit.

Saturday ended with Presentations and a Roast Dinner with Sweets. And an enjoyable night by all that attended.

 

Sunday Morning started with 81 shooters and the State 40 Mixed Targets.

 


Overall Winner was Dennis Whitely from Tasmania with 83/83
